The goal of the project is to develop and implement new procedures remediation of environmental burdens based on the synergistic effect of direct electric current with reducing and oxidizing agents. Oxidation and reduction reactions are inter alia characterized by the exchange of electrons between the reactants, wherein the reactants are consumed. Supply of electrons through the direct current is several orders less expensive than the supply of electrons by redox processes. Applied research of this process and optimization of the conditions of the geological environment will lead to a significant reduction in remediation methods.
